Now a little about Chuck Macak. Chuck has been working in the Music industry for more than 20 years. After seeing his first Kiss concert at the age of 7 he knew this was the world he was meant to live in, MUSIC! Playing trumpet and drums since the age of 6 has given Chuck a good grounding in music theory. After playing in many bands throughout his school years, Chuck decided after his first session playing drums he wanted to do what the man behind the other side of the glass was doing. After attending a local recording studio for basic recording classes Chuck enrolled at the Recording Workshop and University of Ohio for Recording and music business classes. Chuck graduated top of his class in recording. This was the start to a new life, the life in the music business. After working for studios around Chicago including CRC, River North, and Streeterville among many others he found his home as head engineer for Studio 53 for 5 years. At studio 53 Chuck recorded and produced most of the bands in the 80’s/90’s Chicago hard rock scene including Smash Alley, Radakka, Tommi Gunn, O’dette just to name a few from a really really long list. While at Studio 53 Chuck has worked with Major Acts like White Lion, Synergy, Fleshold, Cyclone Temple and Crowbar. While working at Studio 53 Chuck worked with many young musicians that eclipsed into today’s top acts like Danny Donigan of Disturbed, Sean Glass and Tim King of Soil and Josey Scott of Saliva.

chuckAfter the Hair Metal Boom of the 80’s/90’s Chuck needed a change of pace and took the head engineer position at Tanglewood Studio’s. Besides running the studio, Chuck utilized his music business education in helping to run one of the largest Urban/Dance record labels. Tanglewood was a private studio for SOS/RCA records. Chuck mainly did R&B, Dance and Hip Hop for 5 years at Tanglewood. Working at Tanglewood also garnered Chuck a couple gold and platinum records for engineering on top 10 hits from Gillette, Max-A-Million and Roula just to name a few. After the owner of SOS passed away the studio was closed and Chuck took a few years away from the Music business for a mental refreshing (we all know the music business is draining).

Chuck is back with a vengeance and is back working with the new breed of nu-metal, emo, hard core and whatever stupid names the music business has made for hard rock and metal music. To see what Chuck is currently doing check the front page or sound pages of this site.
